Over the past year or so I finally got around to reading the SparksNotes for Anthem, The Fountainhead, and Atlas Shrugged (prompted by my re-reading of the novels for The Atlas Project and Luc Travers’ Literature at Our House).

For those who might not be familiar, SparkNotes are Barnes & Noble’s version of CliffNotes.

Overall, I think the Atlas Shrugged volume is good and worth reading and the other two are not so good. Each volume has a different author and it is clear that the Anthem and The FH volume authors are particularly antagonistic and ill-informed about Objectivism.

Interestingly, the polarity of the volume authors is readily apparent from looking at the references, as the negative volume authors cite David Kelley and Chris Sciabarra, while the Atlas volume author cites Peikoff and Berliner. Anne Williams is the name of the Atlas volume author. I wonder if she’s an Objectivist or someone HBLers know?
