I recently saw the movie Buffaloed, a 2019 movie about a young girl desperate for money and success who becomes a ticket scalper and eventually becomes involved in the debt collection business. The movie, which is definitely slanted against such debt collection agencies, portrays them as basically fraudulent shakedown rackets.
The movie — obviously by design given the common inaccurate associations of Ayn Rand — has two references to Ayn Rand in it. One is the famous not quite accurate quote about “who is going to stop me” and the other has the main character reciting parts of Francisco’s money speech from Atlas Shrugged in her head (“But money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver.”)
