The definitional hierarchy

A very advanced discussion of the difference, if any, between the necessary order of learning concepts and the hierarchy of scope that definitions present. The discussion centers on this statement from ITOE: “Definitions preserve, not the chronological order in which a given man may have learned concepts, but the logical order of their hierarchical interdependence.”
