One-line summary: A perfect performance of one of the great pieces of music of all time
With thanks to Nell & Jim Kroeger. They suggested this piece on the MOTM on Sense of Life a couple of weeks and I had never heard it (or heard of it). I am now so engrossed in it that I spend about an hour a day listening to different versions. (Well actually, now, one version):

If there were one word to describe this performance: crystalline.
There is not a wrong note. The piano, orchestra, vocalists and full chorus are all perfect.
And of course (I know there is no “of course” about it, that some will not respond as I do), the music itself is stunning. A complex, brilliant melody with long lines that leads inevitably to the finale.
