Ever since hearing George Carlin on flying and the safety lecture (“…taking time out to describe the intricate workings of a belt buckle…”), I’ve not paid attention to announcements on airplanes as a one man protest.
Evidently I’m not the only one and airlines have taken to livening up the presentation. On a Delta flight recently, the movie version of the lecture was spiced with funny antics of the passengers in the background.
This Southwest flight attendant video takes the award, when she kicks off with “I’d like to pretend to have you attention for just a few moments.” Perhaps she too has seen George when she explains: “Position your seatbelt tight & low across your hips like my grandmother wears her support bra.”
It helps to read the text as the words fly by (pun intended) and the audio is not the best.
Enjoy!
