A repost ofĀ my earlier HBLĀ reccommendation of the movie Chef:

If you can find it in your local art-house theater, I recommend seeking out the movie Chef, written, directed and staring John Favreau. The movie centers around Carl (John Favreau), a talented chef struggling to find a way to be true to himself and to his son after conflicts with his boss; a food critic; and Twitter send his life into a tailspin.

There are several big names such as Dustin Hoffman, Oliver Platt, Scarlett Johansson, John Leguizamo and Robert Downey Jr. in small parts sprinkled throughout the movie, and the fact that they are all a pleasure to watch is a testament to Favreau’s talent as a director.

The movie has a benevolent sense of life, and as a feel-good ā€œfoodieā€ movie, it ranks right up there with the best of them (such as Babette’s Feast, Chocolat and Big Night). I took great pleasure in watching the care and talent Carl puts into making a particularly delicious looking grilled cheese sandwich for his son.

      Bon Appetit

I am really glad you liked it. Ā Did you see it in a theater?

I see it is available on Amazon Prime (or smile.amazon.com for ARI donations).

      Blu-ray via Netflix — perfect in-home entertainment.
