In the WSJ Online on July 28 and in the Weekend edition on Saturday, August 1 (page D4), a short review (edited from an interview with Donna Bulseco) of Ayn Rand’s Anthem appeared in a column (with three other books) under the subtitle: “A novelist, classics professor and guidebook author on captivating novels set in long-lost worlds, like Edgar Rice Burroughs’s The Land That Time Forgot and Ayn Rand’s Anthem.”
I was pleasantly surprised by Rick Steves’ mini-review of Anthem. I’ve enjoyed his “Travel with Rick Steves” radio show for years, but didn’t expect him to respond so positively to the philosophical message of Anthem. And his review stresses Anthem‘s philosophical themes in a way that suggests he both understands them and feels them emotionally.
