I just got around to reading Objectivist psychologists Dr. Kenner and Professor Locke’s book The Selfish Path to Romance and really found it to contain valuable insights into personal psychology. These insights, though discussed in the context of romantic relationships, clearly have value in all personal relationships and for general introspection.
Another aspect of the book that I’m curious about is the fact that this is an example of “applied” Objectivism by two subject matter experts. Such approaches, I believe, are a good means to both spread Objectivist ideas and illustrate how a non-philosophical field (in this case psychology) can be advanced by applying Objectivist philosophical principles to it.
I wonder if Dr. Kenner or Professor Locke have any interesting anecdotes of the book’s impact on non-Objectivist audiences or on the topic of applied Objectivism.
