One-line summary: Pneumonia, my great aunt Sally
Has anyone seen Weekend at Bernie’s?
What is this going to do to the election?
Can the Democrats run another candidate?

One-line summary: The effects of this weekend for the Hillary Clinton campaign are taking on a life of their own and reverberating in the hills.
This weekend was a bad one for the Clinton campaign.
Friday, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She kept it a secret. Sunday, she “overheated” publicly. She held her mostly adoring press at bay. Finally, when she admitted she was ill, she said she didn’t think pneumonia was that big a deal.
Hillary “didn’t think.” We’ve heard this about Benghazi, and about her emails. At 68 years old, there’s no excuse for not thinking, especially if one is trying out for the toughest job in the world.
Any rational adult would realize that pneumonia is a dangerous disease requiring rest. My grandfather died of it when he was 32. He had a wife and 3 little girls and was trying to fix a broken truck in winter to support his family, before penicillin and other antibiotics. He had an excuse, but he died anyway. What’s Hillary’s excuse?
Her other gaffe is priceless because it is actually one of the few genuine “truth-telling” moments in the public life of Hillary Clinton.
Friday, Hillary said that she thought half of Trump’s supporters could be placed in her “basket of deplorables” and the other half were just angry and frustrated in their desperation for change.
Now Clinton’s people are trying to “dial it back” to say that it doesn’t really apply to half of Trump supporters, it applies only to some, but not half. These people are engaged in wishful spin-doctoring. They miss Hillary’s point.
Hillary’s point was that ALL OF TRUMP supporters are either deplorables or angry and want change. This is Hillary’s true opinion, so now we know what she thinks of the millions who are going to vote for Trump. This is the one candid statement of her entire campaign.
Thus, Hillary declared herself 100% the candidate of the status quo. I believe this is her true position. She will talk, but change nothing, do nothing, accomplish nothing, except try to shut down coal and end gun ownership in the US by any means possible. Will she succeed? I hope she doesn’t get the chance to try. If she does, it could be chaos.
Perhaps that’s why some people on this list favor Hillary over Trump. Rest assured, whatever happens on Hillary’s watch, she will never take responsibility or ownership of bad news, let alone any mistake. As for the people who support Hillary, instead of seeing that her Supreme Court nominee could wreck what little is left of the Constitution, I think they are taking a very, very dangerous path.
So if Hillary is the candidate of the status quo, and Trump is also calling for change, it seems perverse to me to think that Hillary, the Washington insider, is the right way to cast a vote. If you are secretly hoping that Trump would win anyway, but want to express your disapproval of him by voting for her, you need to re-think that.
You might be surprised at how many people have come out saying they are proud to stand with the BASKET OF DEPLORABLES. Find pins, tee shirts, mugs, pictures and a lot of noise on the internet.
By the way, I did see Weekend at Bernie’s. It’s a one-joke, funny movie. The implication of this title on this thread is that Hillary would be equally effective if what happened to Bernie happened to her. I’m not going to agree with that, although the idea of a “Weekend at Hillary’s” is funny.
Weekend at Bernie’s was a comedy movie, and Hillary is “real life,” believe it or not.

One-line summary: I agree
I am not sure why anyone with a predilection for liberty would vote for Kip’s Ma.
The election of Ma Clinton (or is it Ma Rodham or Ma Rodham-Clinton) would be terrible.
